Machine Designer / Project Engineer

Big Sky Engineering, Inc. has an immediate opening for a “Machine Designer / Project Engineer” with 3D CAD software experience. Big Sky Engineering, Inc. is a custom machinery builder specializing in all types of automation and material handling equipment. The perfect candidate would be someone that is a motivated self-starter, detailed oriented, has strong communication and organizational skills with a desire to work in an exciting, fast paced environment. A strong background in automation is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS/JOB DESCRIPTION

-A strong technical understanding of automated equipment engineering.
-3D CAD experience (AutoDesk Inventor preferred).
-Assembly, testing, and documentation of prototype equipment as required.
-Working knowledge of engineering principles.
-Basic knowledge of machining practices and how part tolerances affect machining requirements and cost.
-Knowledge of material properties (machinability, weldability, heat treatment, corrosion resistance, etc).
-Good organizational skills (ability to manage time and set priorities), knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
-To develop design concepts into functional engineering drawing.

Automation Machine Builder

Big Sky Engineering, Inc. has an opening for a “Machine Assembler.” Big Sky Engineering, Inc. is a custom machinery builder specializing in all types of automation and material handling equipment. The perfect candidate would be someone who is a motivated self-starter, detailed oriented, has strong communication and organizational skills with a desire to work in an exciting, fast paced environment. A background in machine automation is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIRED SKILLS

-Assemble a variety of machinery and equipment.
-Work directly with engineering to assure a smooth assembly process.
-To be involved with machine set-up and training at the customer’s plant.
-To exercise your assembly debug skills to aid in correcting problems.
-Build and wire electrical panels.
-Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical problems on mechanical sub-assemblies and the main machine assembly.
-Read blueprints, bills of material, and various technical manuals as required.
-Responsible for maintenance and clean-up of work areas.
-Maintain shop cleanliness on a daily basis.
-Organize assembly area for efficient use and work flow.
-Assembles and troubleshoots equipment systems and assemblies.
-Inspects and tests assemblies for conformance to specifications.
-Operates hand tools and portable powered hand tools.
